I like the way you work it...

...no diggity... Heyo heyo heyo heyaaaaa.... Love that song.

Anyway...

Welcome once again to Weigh-In Wednesday. Sigh.

It was hard dragging my butt out of bed this morning, but check it! I've lost that same pound - yet again. Back to where I was last week. And still so far away from the first goal. And time is running out. Fast.

Sigh.

I should be grateful that the stair walking has offset my eating habits this past week. I've been a bit naughty. Apparently not too much though. I got very lucky. Sigh.

So last night after dinner - a bit of a naughty one - I stopped off at the local Big Lots! store. As luck would have it, the very first display was exercise DVD's and I headed over. Hmmm...feeling a little guilty Donna? Why, yes, I was... Could it be a sign you should get off that bum and start workin' it? That would be another yes. $15 later.... I was in possession of 5 Winsor Pilates exercise DVDs. Which I promptly took home and watched - without exercising.

Oh stop with the 'what good are the videos if you're only gonna watch 'em girl?" thoughts. I always watch exercise, dance, instructional anything videos first before I actually do anything with them. I watch them thru once, get a feel for what is going on then I dive in. That way, I know what to expect, can make a plan of action, and I find out exactly just how much it's going to take out of me.

Now I know that I will be doing the modified all over workout for a while until my body gets used to the Pilates moves. After a few weeks, I'll add in the body specific workouts - starting with the Ab workout (bye bye baby fat-the baby is 12 yrs old after all), and then adding the hips, buns and thighs workout ('cause baby do got some back). Oh yeah, and there's the Maximum Burn and resistant bands DVDs too. I think I'll wait to do those for at least a month or two. Right now, they would probably kill me.

And I'll be using that box of stretching cards my Sis gave me for Xmas. Each card has a body specific stretch. I'll try to get that link up here soon, as I think they are fantastic!

Lord knows I'll need it. I'm not as young as I think I am.

  1. I just got an exercise DVD from netflix. But it's still just sitting on the coffee table. I'm trying to mix it up with walking. Sometimes walking is all I can muster. :)

  2. I do the same thing with new exercise videos. I like to know what is coming up so I can just do them, without craning my neck to see if I'm doing it right. It's not like they stop and wait for you to figure it out.

I might have to head over to Big Lots. I've been wanting those Winsor Pilates DVD's. Was thinking of Netflixing them to see if they are worth it. Let us know if you like them.

  3. Wait... you're not supposed to just watch them and get tired... you're actually supposed to get up and work along?! Jeez Louise... will they think up next?

Ok, I'm going to try to comment again today - it wouldn't let me yesterday!

I think Pilates is great - I hope you enjoy it too. When I first tried it I felt like a complete weeny - I could barely do anything! But after only 3-4 sessions, I started to notice a difference in my strength - I could do more! I completely enjoy seeing the improvement. AND...my posture improved so much that I grew a half-inch. And when you're just over 5' tall, that's important. :) I hope it works as well for you as it has for me!

    Hugs,

    Rachel
