It's Finally Friday!!!

While that in itself is something to celebrate...I'm also spending time with friends tonight to officially celebrate Antonella's Birthday. YAY!!!!!

Oh...and Rhett got his clean sink last night...and I got a good night's sleep - although I'm still friggin' tired... Anyway...I think he's forgiven me...

OOOOOh!!!!! And I tried on two of my "Goal Dresses" - as in dresses I bought in a smaller size way back when I first started this life changing stuff...And they almost fit perfect. I can get them on and zip them up, but I need more wiggle room. Another 5-10 pounds and they will be perfect. And California will finally see my legs...hahaha...if you haven't already guessed, I'm not one to wear dresses or skirts unless I have to...Very few of my friends have ever seen me in a dress...but the more weight I lose, the more feminine I feel, and the more feminine I feel, well, the more I feel like looking feminine. Logical conclusion? I put on a dress. Not because I have to, but because I want to. I can't believe I just typed that...is the world ending today? It has to be...I'm even going to wear heels and coordinate a handbag.

That being said and the fact that things are still Chaotic around here and I've got nothing else to say that isn't work related...I give you yet another quiz...what the hell, why not? Given my current mood and brain wave patterns...the subject seems appropriate...

Your Seduction Style: Au Natural

You rank up there with your seduction skills, though you might not know it.
That's because you're a natural at seduction. You don't realize your power!
The root of your natural seduction power: your innocence and optimism.

You're the type of person who happily plays around and creates a unique little world.
Little do you know that your personal paradise is so appealing that it sucks people in.
You find joy in everything - so is it any surprise that people find joy in you?

You bring back the inner child in everyone you meet with your sincere and spontaneous ways.
Your childlike (but not childish) behavior also inspires others to care for you.
As a result, those who you befriend and date tend to be incredibly loyal to you.

Apartment Therapy Thursday...

My Dearest Rhett....

How have I dissed thee
Let me count the ways
The dishes piled in the sink
This time, it's been for days

No swishing of your toilets
No stroking of your floors
No dusting, wiping, mopping
Clutter hides behind closed doors

I'll spend some time with you tonight
Don't mean to treat you cruely
I'm sorry for the mess we make
I still do love you...truly

Sigh...as you can tell...no Respecting of the Rhett lately. I'm sure he feels neglected. I'm going to make it up to him this weekend - but will give him a little love present this evening as a down payment on the weekend to come...a clean sink.

I have so much to do around the house and so little time - a deadline looms in the near future. Maybe I should give Rhett more than just a clean sink tonight...that is if I don't fall asleep on the couch again...

Happy B-day Antonella....

....Happy Birthday to you!!!!!!

My wondermous friend Antonella is celebrating another year on this world today....and I've been creating some monkey business up at her desk....heheheheheh....I'll have pix later....

Spence and I are really glad you came into our life...we love you girl!!!!! Don't forget...In-N-Out on Thursday.....yummy yummy!!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And now on the business of Weigh-In Wednesday...another 2 lbs down! WOOT! I looked in the mirror the other day and said "WHOA!!!"...my face is looking smaller! And then looked a bit higher and said "Holy F@#$!" ...look. at. all. that. gray. Time for some magic in a box - otherwise known as "Revlon Colorsilk #47". Sigh. It'll be a nice treat to myself for still losing weight. Not as good as chocolate, but a hell of a mood boost and not so fattening... ; )
Still no walking this week, I hope to do some tomorrow, eh? It's been hella crazy in Officina de Chaos!!! And damn it all, I miss getting oot and aboot every day. (Like my Canadian? In honor of the birthday girl, eh?)
I should lose another 2 lbs by the end of next week when I re-take my test (18 lbs lost - close enough!). I want to do it Monday, but we've got a new person starting and I really should be in the office for that...so I'll have to pick another day. But it will be next week! And I look forward to taking it...that's pretty damn sick isn't it...oh well...I can't wait for the results...I've worked hard to get here and the work is only just beginning. Right now I feel ready to know what's up...good or bad...I'm ready.
How could I forget it's Boobie Tuesday?????
Guess things are more Chaotic around here than I thought...
Anyway, here's Rachel's lastest update...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lost Opportunities…

I walked by myself on Sunday – the team walk was canceled due to bad weather (which threatened much of the day but didn’t ever do anything).

Things I wanted to take pictures of but couldn’t, because my camera was at home:

- Absolutely gorgeous roses at multiple houses. I stopped to smell lots of them.
- Two completely cute little boys making giant soap bubbles and shrieking when the wind took them across the street (the bubbles, not the boys).
- My new house, approaching from either side.
- A tree with more lemons on it than leaves.
- The ree-eeaa-lllllyyy h-h-h-HOT AT&T guy loading stuff into his van.

‘nuff said.

Rachel

My Avon Walk for Cancer Page

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I really need to start taking my camera along too...but right now, I'm too busy walking and just looking to stop and snap just yet. Maybe after I take my test (next week already!!!!), I can slow down and enjoy it more.
Let's hear it for HOT GUYS you spot en route...BOOYAH!
And no-blog-Rachel has come over to the FUN side...she has finally broken down and set herself up with a blog...LOVE what she called it.
Needless to say, she has been added to my bloglines...which now state I have 287 blog entries to read...sigh.
Because it's Saturday night, I'm working and I can...
You Are Girly Sexy
You're a youthful spirit, and your energy is infectious.
Men love your innocence and lack of emotional baggage.
You make every kiss seem like the first and every moment magical.
How could any guy in his right mind resist that?
hahahahahahahaha...I'm girlie! Snort...this is too. much. fun.
Hey! I'm irresistible...heh heh.
Post 201!
Wow, I sure have babbled a lot!!!!
Anyway...here you go Rachel...check the profile photo. That one is from my b-day last summer.
Now you can picture me all hyped-up on caffeine-it's quite a site actually. I am apparently very entertaining...bouncing off walls and such.
Well, no more blogging this weekend. I've got a lot of catching up to do with everything and everyone.
Yes Rachel...the unexpected Distractions are the best...neither one of us was looking...
OK, off to do chores...Rhett is feeling a bit neglected...and Scooter (my little Toyota) is in desperate need of a bath...
Slowly catching up with technology...
Wow, it's done. High Speed Internet-a-go-go here at Casa de Chaos.
Aye carumba! This is too much fun...
I'll be posting over the weekend now when I have time...and might even start posting in the morning before I go to work!!! The connection is so fast now, I can if I want to...
Just a quick update:
No walking for us yesterday or today. Things just didn't work out yesterday and today I was so busy, I'm glad I told Antonella to drag me off to lunch. Otherwise, I would have just worked through it.
I got a wee bit wacked out at work today. Was already busy, but had a bunch of new stuff dumped on me late yesterday afternoon. Add uncooperative computers, impatient co-workers, little sleep, and loud pumpin' club music and ...well...you got me today at work - a very silly, multi-tasking, singing, swearing, hyped up chick. And no, I don't drink caffeine - of any kind - cause I'd be that way ALL the time. And I'm sooo excited! I'll probably be working tomorrow (ack! on Saturday! Ack!) too. NOT.
Oooh, gotta run my dearies...Pleasant Distraction is on-line...
Happy Weekend!!!!
And once again, the theory is proved....
Good Heavens, no-blog Rachel sure does pay attention! She commented on my weight loss ticker before I could even post about it!!! Thanks for the encouraging words too...
Another 3 pounds down... BOOYAH!!!! Not gonna say any more. Just gonna keep on doin' what I'm doin'...
Oh the hell with it...I feel better and people are noticing the weight loss. Why on earth did I wait so long?!? Anyways, I'm doing it now and that's all that matters.
The end of the month is getting closer, but I'm not worried. I could possibly make it to the full 20, but I'll be extremely happy getting really close.
And the best part? Instead of being just one big blob... I've got boobs!! Oooh! And a waistline! Ooh look! There's my hips!!!
hahahahah....dangerous curves ahead....
Ignore the crazy woman...carry on...
A whole lot of crazy goin' 'round...
Work has been on the crazy side lately, and I’ve found that knitting during lunch has been helping with the stress better than walking. So I didn’t walk during lunch this week. I did get to it on the weekend, though – I’m a partial slacker, not a total one. There were 3 of us this time – well actually 4, if you count Cheerio, the little canine dust mop who joined us with his mom.
For the first time in a few weeks, no one was recovering from the flu or something, and it showed in our pace. We averaged about .25 mph faster than we had the last few walks, and that included slowing down to let Cheerio visit with a few doggie friends. Not bad. The path from Los Gatos to Campbell and back was pretty crowded which can be a little irritating, but I’m sure it was nothing compared to the hordes that will be taking the same course we will during the walk, so I’m just going to have to get used to it! We did 13 miles in 4 hours. I was actually more impressed with Cheerio than I was with us. He’s just a little guy, and damn he did well! He’d stop to visit with other dogs, and then walk REALLY fast so he could be ahead of us again. You could tell near the end that he was pretty tired, but he kept smiling the whole time. Too bad he can’t do the real walk with us – he’s a great little walk buddy.
I tried not using body glide on my feet for the walk to see if it would make a difference with that very attractive rash. It wasn’t as bad this time as last, but the day wasn’t as hot either. I think it has to do with temperature and moisture, not so much the body glide. I did use it on and around my toes and there was no rash there. While I was walking, the middle of the balls of my feet started to hurt – it felt as if a blister was forming, but there wasn’t anything there. Cheerio’s mom had the same issue. Luckily, I’m a freakin’ boy scout and carry all sorts of stuff on me that I think I might need, so I was able to make use of some mole foam (??), which helped both of us. Note to self: stay well stocked with mole foam. Other than that, I felt pretty good the entire walk. Toward the end my shoulders were really sore – it’s where I carry my tension – but I found that if I concentrated on good posture while I walked it did help. That and of course, stretching. I think I’m going to try to add Pilates to my workout plan; I’ve been ignoring upper body work and I’m feeling it.
There’s nothing wrong with 13 miles, but we need to push it more. So next week we’re doing 15 or more. Including some hills. Nathalie wants to do 20. Yikes! Another plan we have is to drive up to the city some time and walk the hills that will actually be part of the course. We don’t know the exact route, but I think whatever hills we do there will be good practice. In the meantime, I’m sure those Los Gatos hills will be kickin’ my butt. As long as they’re making it more muscular, that’s fine with me.
See you next week!
Rachel
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Girl, your butt will be rock solid by the time you are done...

Glad to hear things are looking up with the whole rash thing. And yes, now is the time to discover everything that helps with aches, pains, and blisters. You will definitely need them come walk time. The walks do start out crowded in the morning, but the walkers just naturally spread themselves out after the first mile or so. Everyone gets into their own pace and stride. I remember the second walk I did, we were walking up the Pacific Coast Highway and we were pretty much single file on the side of the road. Walkers for miles in front of me and for miles behind me. All walking to make a change. It was a beautiful site. Still brings a tear to my eye when I think about it.

Anyway, things are crazy around Casa de Chaos and Officina de Chaos as well. And opposite to Rachel, walking is my way of dealing. Check out the mileage that Antonella and I have been racking up...we are averaging 2.75 miles a day!

The Pleasant Distraction has been even more pleasantly distracting lately, so now we toss that into the Chaos and see what falls out. An extremely busy, very happy woman.

Walk on Rachel! When you walk at lunch again, think of Antonella and I out there with you in spirit.

A Tribute...

...to my Dad...

Dad passed on 9 years ago today. And it still hurts just as much as it did then. The passage of time helps heal they say. Most of the days, that is true, it's just the anniversary that throws me a few steps back.

In the interest of healing, I give you a peek at my Dad:

A man who proudly served his country on foreign soil...

...and domestic...

A loving Husband....

...and devoted Father...

(that's me on Mom's lap)

...and a wonderful Grandfather...(don't have any of those pictures electronically)

Spence was only 3 1/2 when he passed, but he still remembers him and talks about him often. In the short time they had together, they formed a very strong bond and I'm so glad of that.

Dad was many things to many people, but he was the Best. Dad. Ever.

I miss you Pop.

PS...and thanks for keeping an eye out for me still and putting in a good word for me with the Powers That Be...you know why. Somehow I knew you heard that request...I feel your presence all the time.

Soooo much to do...

Hello everyone,
This past week I've been extremely busy up until the last few days where I've been pleasantly distracted...don't you just love it when something unexpected comes up?

Needless to say, none of the pleasantly regular stuff has gotten done...like updating my milage total, logging the last two walks, beading, knitting, relaxing...and definitely none of the necessary stuff such as bonding with Rhett, doing laundry, washing dishes...well, you get the picture.

And this week would have been the best time for it all since Spencer was out of town with a friend for Spring Break. Leave it to Work to totally screw everything up.

Despite all the chaos and distractions at work, I did manage to walk every day except Monday. Antonella is a great walking partner - she keeps me motivated to keep walking and is more than willing and capable to pry me from my cubicle when necessary. We overdid it a wee bit on Wednesday though - 4.61 miles instead of the usual 2.5 or so...we just had to go all the way to Pier 39 and watch the Sea Lions. So, on Thursday and Friday we walked the other way along the Embarcadero and did an easy 2.5 miles.

Oh! And I'm so excited!!!! I finally broke down and sighed up for dsl. I should have it in place by next weekend! WOOT! Now I can update my blog on the weekends too without suffering through this damn dial-up connection. That's why you don't usually hear from me on the weekends by the way, I get very frustrated and impatient with it all and just say "Fuhget about it!" hahaha

Now I can surf, shop, and generally have fun on the internet and Spence can game to his hearts content (under a time limit of course, and only after homework is done). It's an early b-day present to us both. His is in June, mine is in July...but I can't wait any longer and I got a great deal, so how could I resist?

But Donna, this is the weekend! And you're slogging (sluggish blogging)! Well, I thought I'd pop on the internet to check the weather report to see how long this rain will last...looks like all day, so there will be no outdoor walk today. :( Looks like today is filled with bill paying, dish washing, laundry (if I can get some Quarters) and bonding. Yes, definitely Rhett bonding. I still need to clean our new love toy...it's pretty nasty from our last bonding session - we almost shorted it out!

But first, some breakfast...I've been up since 5am (oh the horror! So friggin' early on a Saturday!) and still haven't eaten anything! I've been busying slugging thru the internet and now my tummy grumbles. So with that, I bid you farewell and happy Weekend to you all!

It's all J's fault this time...

There I was happily working (ahem) away, when I decided to take a gander at some blogs and this is what I see on her blog...a quiz...and you know how I can't resist those damn things...

You Are a Pinky

You are fiercely independent, and possibly downright weird.
A great communicator, you can get along with almost anyone.
You are kind and sympathetic. You support all your friends - and love them for who they are.

You get along well with: The Ring Finger

Stay away from: The Thumb

Me? Weird? Bwahahahahahaha.....

Well...waddaya know?

There really is something to that "increased activity = weight lost". Check it out - 2 lbs lost this past week. Boooyah!

Who'd a thunk... now all I need to do is "healthy food choices + increased activity = more weight lost". Then I'll be good to go.

On to things I've learned while out and about walking or preparing to walk. I've done this before, but since none of my current readers have probably read that (and that old blog isn't accessible any longer anyway), I'll do it again. Besides, I like it and it's fun to make myself think....and this is all different...

Here we go:

  1. I really should take my own advice and stretch often. That first walk was a killer. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that it was in fact my first walk and I've been a slug for the last few years. I stretch a lot now.
  2. Walking on trails is really cool and everything around you is so beautiful. Until you remember you have allergies , and all that beautiful stuff is also in bloom.
  3. Family (namely my child) is very supportive of your weight loss quest until they go out walking with you. Then they are just bored. He tried not to show it, but I could tell he was - what a trooper. Although next time, he will walk instead of scootering - he was always up ahead of me waiting for me to catch up. I'm sure that had nothing to do with his boredom. Right.
  4. I have a thing for firemen. Every walk I've done over the last week has lead me past a Fire Station. Hmmmm.....wonder how that happened?
  5. Dangle a carrot in front of an old gray mare and she'll get her ass in gear.
  6. Walking with someone is much better than walking alone. Even if they are bored tweens on a scooter, or a walking partner who also has her MP3 player on. Thanks for going out with me on the weekend Spence. Thanks for walking with me at work Antonella (we did our first walk together yesterday.)
  7. Two women of like minds can communicate with just a look. And it can be quite funny.
  8. I still appreciate the male body - well duh!!! (See #5)
  9. I enjoy watching construction workers work. (See #8)
  10. The only thing yummier than a fireman, is a fireman on a fire boat. (See #'s 4, 5, & 8)
  11. Wide leg capri exercise pants make me feel like an idiot - and most likely look like one too. I got the strangest looks when I wore those.
  12. Just because exercise pants look like they will be long enough, doesn't mean they actually are - you really need to try them on - totally moots the whole point of them being such a bargain at $6 off the clearance rack. More like $6 wasted. (See #11)
  13. I love Kohl's department store. Not only can I find bras is my size that I would actually be caught dead in, it has saved my ass many times when I needed clothing (at a low price) for myself or Spencer. Yes, I found some Danskin exercise pants on the clearance rack that fit and don't make me look like an idiot.
  14. I wish my new exercise pants were black instead of gray. I sweat in embarrassing places and said sweat really shows up on the gray pants.
  15. I love my oversized, VERY long t-shirts. (See #14)
  16. Good shoes, and good socks are a good thing.
  17. While loading music on my off-brand MP3 player is very frustrating, it is totally worth it. Good music gets me going.
  18. You lookin' at my ass? Enjoy yourself. If you touch, you die...unless of course I said you could...
  19. You don't like what you see? Doesn't matter to me, you're not so hot either.
  20. Catch me lookin' at your ass? D'oh! BUSTED! Enjoy it. I sure am.

OK, enough about ass admiration...time to get my ass in gear and get back out on the street. The sun has come out and Antonella and I can't wait to head out for our walk. We both were disappointed that it was raining earlier - we wanted to walk! Now we can, and we are happy.

It's the little things.

Happy Feet? Ummmm....maybe not?

I feel pretty…ugly!

I’ve been sick all week; it started with a fever on Sunday, I came home from work after only 90 minutes there on Monday, and spent the rest of the week sniffling, sneezing, and being very attractive in general. As I was apparently unable to breathe and walk at the same time, I chose breathing, and I didn’t walk. Until Sunday. I had plans to walk with Nathalie, and rather than do another 15 miler (due to Easter plans in the afternoon) we agreed to just walk until we had to or wanted to head home. That morning, I so did not want to get up and out the door. But I decided to give it a try, and if I ended up not feeling well, I’d just call it a day. I figured I could get at least 2 or 3 miles in, which would be better than nothing. Luckily, Nathalie was feeling pretty low energy herself. Off we went, a couple of weenies.

Well, not so much really. We cut it short at only ten miles. ONLY ten miles?! Holy crap, we did ten miles! Hot damn.

When I got home, I felt pretty good. My feet begged to differ – they actually felt ok, but man, they were ugly! See? I googled Heat Rash and I don’t think it’s that. This has happened the last three times I’ve walked, but it’s getting worse. Can you imagine how very attractive they’re going to be after 26 miles? It does go away over night though – at least it has so far. I’ll try to think positively.

Have a good week!

- the recovering scary-footed hard-ass weenie

Rachel

Edited to add photo - would help if you could see the issues, eh?:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OK, time for the power of the internet and knitters everywhere (and non-knitters too!). Anyone got an ideas to help Rachel's tootsies?
Rachel, did you recently get new socks, shoes, or lotion? Could be a reaction from the heat, sweat, and if you've got something new on your skin...
Well folks, tomorrow is Weigh-In-Wednesday. We'll see if the added activity has helped any. I haven't been making the best food choices lately, so hopefully, at the minimum, there will be no weight gain.
Lucky yous, you get to read what I've learned while walking about in SF.
Monday, April 09, 2007
It's not pressing PLAY, but it's something...
I started walking last Wednesday. Check the mileage ticker at the bottom of the page. I've done 3 walks.
That's an average of about 2.5 miles per walk. And I'd thought I'd have a heart attack if I walked more than a few blocks at a fast pace...
Silly me. I can still rock the walk. And I did. And I will every day this week except today.
More on my walks on Weigh-In-Wednesday.
And I still need to get in some beading. Things just haven't been working out as I've planned lately. Makes me wonder (yet again) why the hell I even try to plan things out anymore...
Wednesday, April 04, 2007
I used to like roller coasters.
I guess I still do as long as it is the real steel thing and not a word used to describe my weight.
Three pounds down last week? Three pounds back this week. Ugh.
Up and down. Back and forth. Happy sad then happy again. Then sad again.
Well, this time I'm mad. I know I said a few weeks ago I would take the glucose test at the end of March or at 20 lbs. lost - whichever came first. I've changed my mind. I've gotten to the point where I am angry at myself for not doing what I was supposed to do and now I am stubborn. I am going to lose the 20 lbs. and I won't take the test until I do.
After I weighed myself this morning and took a wonderful hot shower (still lovin' the new shower head), I packed my 'workout clothes' in my backpack. I will take a walk today. At some point. Which will be totally inconvenient to my work schedule, but I don't care. I have to work it in during the day. I have no choice. I've had no choice, but now I'm finally ready to brow-beat myself into doing it.
Anger motivated workout. We'll see tomorrow how motivated I was...I'll get in a good stretch before and after, so hopefully I won't be so sore that I can't do it again tomorrow and the next day and the next...when I get pissed and started walking...stay out of my way or I'll run you over...hopefully I won't get too carried away and go too fast or too far this first time out.
NOTE: I just called the doctor's office this morning to see if it was OK for me to wait a bit longer to take the test - I may be pissed, but I'm not an idiot. She's giving me until the end of this month to finish losing the 20 lbs. The 20 lbs. as a goal is there for a good reason. Just losing 10 lbs. will make a difference in the outcome of the test, but losing 20 lbs. should make a very obvious change in the test - unless of course, I am headed faster toward diabetes than we thought. Bottom line, it's better to lose the 20 lbs.
There's that damn 4 letter word again...
Diet
One of my least favorite words. Tell me I’m not allowed to eat something, and it suddenly becomes what I want most. Don’t mention it and I probably won’t have much interest in it. I remember being told not to drink while pregnant. I’ve never been a big drinker, and much of the time I didn’t feel like having it, but damn, it pissed me off to be told ‘no’! It still does. Maybe I should start a blog about that – I’ll call it “You’re Not the Boss of Me” – ramblings of a woman who is, apparently, 12.
(go for it girl!)
I’ve always eaten in a pretty healthful way. My mother understood the concept of moderate fat and sugar content, the need to avoid over processed, chemical-laden foods, and the benefits of a varied diet way before it gained national attention. Luckily for me, I actually took those habits with me into adulthood. Sure, I love onion rings, garlic bread and sweet stuff as much as anyone. But I have them on occasion, not habitually. One habit I’ve been working on for a little over a year is eating a decent breakfast. I don’t feel like eating when I get up, so I usually keep something in my desk at work. Kashi has a great hot cereal that’s whole grain, very low sugar, and I usually have that with a banana or berries sliced into it. That’s also what I eat for breakfast before any major training walk.
Weekend before last though, I really didn’t feel like having oatmeal. So I went for a couple of pieces of sourdough toast. I met up with Nathalie in Los Gatos, and we did just over 11 miles. Because I tend to feel the effects of low blood sugar, I keep an energy bar (whole grain, high fiber & carbs) with me, as well as a couple of packets of Gu. And I bring a bottle of half-strength sports drink. That morning, I drank all of that, went through 2 packets of Gu and still got weak and shaky before we were half-done with our walk. Luckily I had that bar on me, I felt better shortly after eating it, and was able to make it back to the car.
This past Saturday, I went back to the whole grain oatmeal, and we got an early start on our walk. The plan was to do 15 miles, trying to mimic what we’d be doing on the big walk; we’d stop to rest (not just for the bathrooms), eat a little, stretch periodically, etc. It went really well! I had no need at all for the Gu or snack bar, and had a lot of energy the entire time. We noticed that after 12 miles – the length of our longest walk to date – we were moving faster and better than we had when we did that distance the first time. The best part was that even though we were hot and tired after 15, we could have kept going! I’m attributing at least part of that to breakfast. The day I had more processed foods (even though they were all natural with no preservatives), I burned through them more quickly and my body needed more fuel earlier. Saturday I ate whole grain and whole fruit (ok, I did chew), and was able to maintain energy. Lesson learned. I think I’m going to do some research on how to eat the week prior to expending major energy.
So my plan was to walk again on Sunday. I was wiped out after the Saturday walk, but after a hot bath and then soaking my feet in ice water that night, I felt pretty good, and thought I’d go anywhere from 5-7 miles on the flats near my house the next day. But as Sunday progressed I ended up with a fever, so I didn’t walk at all. Bummer. Maybe if someone had told me I wasn’t allowed to walk I’d have found the energy to do it anyway. Because obviously, I am 12.
Hey – less than $850 to raise before I hit my personal fundraising goal! How do you like them apples?!
Rachel
It's tough eating the right things for your body. But you are doing the right thing in listening to it. It knows what it needs.
Many needs have been filled here at Casa de Chaos, and alas, many needs have been ignored. There has been knitting, there has been b-day party taxi service, there has been getting down and dirty with Rhett (and yes Stephieface our love toy is very dirrrrrty), and there has been quiet reading time.
I'll leave all the needs that have been ignored to your imaginations dear readers...
This Friday, I have the day off. I'm looking forward to it - sick as that will sound. I'm looking forward to sleeping in, having my yearly Mammo (3 months late), and then just chilling back at the Casa until I have to pick up Spencer. Then the madness starts all over again. I hope during my afternoon chill time I'll be able to get some beading done. I have some very special projects to work on for some very special contest winners...
I have lots of posts rambling about in my head that need to be written up and posted. Someday I'll get to that too...
