This is what happens when you are stupid enough to not start on time, then rush, and then have the balls to brag that things are going along GREAT JUST GREAT!

And then you publish it on the internet.

You mess up the pattern and don't notice until 3 rows later.

THREE LONG ROWS OF 130+ stitches.

And it wasn't a simple enough thing for me that I could just let a stitch go, go down a bit and fix the mistake.  I don't do well with that process to begin with...  If I did that, it would just be better to frog and start over because it would all be a big fat yarny mess.

So just spent almost the entire knitting time since I bragged about how well things were going, tinking*.

Rinkety tinkety tink. 
The yarn ball fell in the sink. 
The knitter went skating, instead of just waiting,
and busted her butt in the rink.

(Makes no sense whatever, I know. It just popped into my head.)

So... Sorry Sis, you'll have to wait a few extra days for your knitterly item.  There's an envelope coming to Mom's house by Saturday.  Enjoy your gift card in the interim.

*Definition of Tink:
Tink is the term used by knitters to mean unknitting or knitting backward. Tink is actually knit spelled backward.

When you notice a mistake in your knitting either in the row you are currently working on or the row you just finished working, the easiest way to fix it is to tink back to the problem stitch and start over.

It is not recommended that you tink over several rows because it takes a long time and is very nerve-wracking.

Just another lazy Sunday

Well, today didn't quite turn out as it was supposed to...pretty much the whole weekend went like that.

It's all been good, but I miss my friend who was supposed to ride her shiny new bike over to have turkey burgers with us. That's the only thing that was a downer. She's not feeling well and shouldn't be out riding, so we'll have to do it another day.

Spencer had a friend over for the entire weekend, so none of the food I bought will go to waste. As a matter of fact, they've just finished it all off and he's off to the bus stop and headed home.

I'm tired. I've been either shopping for food or cooking it. Don't know how you folks handle more than one kid, especially a teen. They are non-stop eating machines! Thank God for my dishwasher, it's run twice already.

I haven't done anything drawing-wise or jewelry-wise. I've been trying to get myself to work on my Stitches on the Bridge project that needs to be in Scotland soon. As some of you may recall, I made a grid of the Golden Gate Bridge and originally planned to do that in double-knitting. Well, that changed last night.

My left wrist is giving me some grief lately - actually a LOT of grief, so double-knitting isn't exactly the technique I should be doing right now. So I took apart what little I had done (trust me, it wasn't much...only about 6 inches of about 76 inches needed), and started over.

It's still a double-knitted pattern, but a much simpler one - a graphic - and it's going rather quickly and it doesn't aggravate the wrist.

Now, if I could only keep working on it. I seem to have a case of the snoozles...I'm so tired this past week, I've taken naps almost every day and not surprisingly, I've had troubles sleeping at night. It's a vicious cycle. I'm trying very hard to stay out of bed during the day today, so hopefully, I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Off to work on the scarf now...

OK, so it's not as inspired and creative and all hoopla-y like I wanted it to be...deal with it.

I've been fighting a losing battle with allergies and finally went to the doc today. Came home with some really gung-ho meds. Nothing like some booyah drugs to take care of bidness! Looks like I'll be on the allergy meds full time during the 'season' again. That's what I get for wanting to get out and bike while it's snowing pollen. I've got some nerve, don't I?

Really sounds like I'm on something besides allergy meds doesn't it...what DO they put in those nose sprays now-a-days?!?

Seriously tho, I'm just so excited cos after one spray up my snozzle, I'm ready to go. I've got lots to do, so the whole world better just step aside, I'm back...and I'm going to start knocking out some awesome stuff.

First off, Spence and I had this totally awesome Sammie Sunday planned out. Picture Kitty in an easter basket surrounded by fake grass and plastice eggs. Kinda like a "Watch out Cadbury Bunny, Princess Sammie is in da house/we're really not amused about this" thing.

As you can see from the lack of photos, that didn't happen. Total. Non-cooperation. Damn. Cat. Next...

My big plans for a really cool 500th post shot to hell once I figured out I needed a zillion photos to do it and lots more time than I had and more brain power than I could muster...so now it's going to be a series. I'm calling it "The Family Jewels Series". Not the crown jewels, altho that does give an idea for a Sammie Sunday photoshoot. And not those kinds of family jewels - you dirty minded people!!!

This series is going to highlight the artistic side of my family - as in every one is a jewel to be admired cos they are talented and I love them, etc. Which also will include Honey and his folks cos they are quite talented as well. And with everyone included, it will be a lovely, long and hopefully extremely interesting series. Stay tuned. Not only do I have to gather photographic evidence, but it all has to be organized and of course I've got to pull all these ideas out of my head, but make sure nothing else leaks out.

Been doing a lot of reading...can't do much else, so have been knocking back the Terry Pratchett Discworld Series... came to a halt with that one tho, as I still need to get some missing books, so have moved over to Angels and Demons for something different. Love me a good mystery, murder every so often. Next...

Working on some costumes for Spencer's school. The drama class is putting on "Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are Dead". I'm making 5 pieces and one Queen's dress. Cue panic. I've lost a lot of time with this cos of all the stomach flu and allergy and sinus headaches bordering on mini-migranes (oh the PAIN!!!). But that's all over now and I'm back in business. Time to start crankin'!!!

AHA!!! I've remembered why I'm such a spaz right now. I'm caffeinated. Forgot to tell the girl to give me decaf when I got a coffee while I was waiting for my prescription. NEXT....

Still trying to get some cool projects out of my head and off the "to-do" list and on to some needles. Shhh...they are secret. So I'm hoping the 'Jewels' series of posts will keep your minds off what I'm doing. heh heh heh. Next!

Working on another project called "Stitches on the Bridge". I'm hoping to make a small panel with the Golden Gate Bridge double knitted on it...thought that would be cool to make a bridge to go on the bridge. Have the yarn, have the swatch, need to grid out the design. Thought it would be cool to get in on some "sanctioned" guerilla knitting - after, all the panels get auctioned for charity. So I'm knitting for good and not evil. Next!!

Am so far behind on my SF sock club socks. Don't really care, I AM working on them and they DO get knit on during sock club meetups and bus/train rides. Next...

Lastly - yay!!! she's about to shut up!!!! - got some "new" stuff to work on more things for my shop! OHHHH, and speaking of shop, check out the videos that were just posted up over at the Phat Fiber blog. D'Lnn Designs gets a shout out at timestamp 6:35 in the first video. Yay!!!!

I'm sure there is lots more I could post, but I think I'm starting to crash. GOOD GOD!!! When did it turn 8pm...I've been working on this damn 500th post for too long. Gah.

FINISHED OBJECT ALERT!!!!

Oh, and I've decided that the Quick as a Flash Crocheted Blanket is D.O.N.E. Spence and I went to JoAnn's today to get more yarn and they didn't have it. Came back home, looked online, and their website didn't have it. Ask anyone at the store and they won't know when, or even if they will get any more in... Was going to call and special order, but that takes 3 weeks and I'm just about over this blanket - unless I had gotten more yarn like RIGHT NOW.

It's 70" X 60". Not as big as a bed, but pretty damn close enough and way big enough to wrap yourself up on the couch. D.O.N.E.

I'll post an FO photo when I get around to taking one. Someday.

WIP - the Quick as a Flash Blanket for Spencer

Thought I'd fill you all in on my hookin' progress...




It's going so fast, Kitty almost got whiplash!!!!

It's going so fast that since I took this photo, just on Tuesday night I think...it's grown about a foot. Or so. And I'm almost out of yarn.

So you know what that means. A trip to Jo-Ann's is in order very soon - I predict the day after payday. hahaha

Anyway, I'm almost done with the first two balls of the Jo-Ann's Sensations Rainbow Boucle that I am using. I haven't decided on how much more I'm going to get. I'll either get just one more and work double stranded from both ends of the ball - which is the knitting version of burning one candle at both ends - a surefire way to get totally tangled! Or, I'll get two more giant balls and pull from center on both. At the same time. Cos that what you do when you hold two strands together.

Quizz later.

I guess I'll figure that all out once I've come to the end of what I've got now - see where I am with the length.

There is no pattern for this blanket. I'm holding two strands together and using a very large crochet hook. I made a base chain until it was as wide as my double bed and now I'm just single crocheting every row (with a double crochet row thrown in here and there) until I think it's big enough. :)

What I do know is that it's very soft and squishy and warm. :)


Oh, and I've cast on for Honey's socks. Again.

Sammie Sunday and the Unhappy Hooker

These were taken last night about 1am-ish, so yeah, technically it was Sunday!

Here we have Ms Sammie "helping" again...but hey, you're not supposed to sit inside the project bag!!!



Yeah, this is what made the "Hooker" unhappy. I was trying to crochet and there she is INSIDE my project bag, with her bad, white, fluffy self daring me to pull out more yarn.



Well, we all know how this ended...she was banished from the bag so I could work more on a blanket project. It's a double-stranded (two yarns held together, nothing fancy) and crocheted using a GINORMOUS hook. That thing is mondo gigantic. I love it. The blanket is as wide as my double-sized bed and already about 7 or 8 inches along. Love giant hooks, love giant stitches, love how quickly this blanket is going.

Another thing to make the "Hooker" unhappy...I've frogged the Random Acts of Acrylic blanket. I'm just not doing something correctly along the left edge. The right edge is perfect, but the left edge is just totally W-R-O-N-G! Have to take another look at the how-to's and then try again. This time on something smaller as that blanket would have taken FOREVER to finish. I still want to make a blanket though with all that acrylic and I still want to do the Tunisian crochet. I'm thinking squares of it put together...like a Granny Square blanket. Maybe strips. Dunno. We'll see.

In the meantime, I've started on the giant stitch crochet blanket, and the few acrylic balls I was using for the Tunisian crochet project are sitting at the bottom of my argyle scarf project bag, thinking about what they want to be.

Oh, and the scarf?

28 pattern repeats my friends. YAY ME!!! Depending on how you look at it...I could have either 4 or 6 left. Four would get me to the estimated 32 I needed for "perfect length". Six will get me (or should get me) to the end of this current set of yarn balls (2 more repeats or 28 more rows, that's nuttin', right?). Right now, I'm so excited about actually working on such a cool pattern again (and it is despite my recent whining), that I just might work it til the ends of the balls. I hope to have it finished by the time Spencer comes back from spending time at his Dad's - Wednesday. I can do it!!!!

Now, if I could only get rid of this stomach bug that's been hanging on since Monday. Thank God I work at home - 'nuf said.

Some knitting on the Argyle Scarf happening, a new blanket project started. Both of these projects are pretty cool and I enjoy working on them.

No bike riding happening...which is a real damn shame because the weather is just AWESOME!!! Poor Sgt. Puff sits lonely and neglected out on the porch...sigh.

I sit inside at my computer working and wishing I was outside with the wind in my braids...SIGH.

Can we get a "Just Right?"

ok...so I decide to cast on for the bag to break up the sock knitting....

Lion Suede is a different gauge than Berroco Suede, so I do a swatch in the stitch pattern, do some calcumacating and voila! I have a number of stitches to cast on.

Cast on and happily knit away.....get it about 5inches long and step back a bit to check out my handiwork. GAH. It looks a bit small. Out comes the measuring tape. Um....5 inches too small. GAHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Rrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiippppppppppp....

Next night...another swatch is done...more calcumacating is performed...I come up with another number....hmmmm...I think to myself...I think I did something wrong. I don't think it'll be big enough. So I measure the swatch again, calcumacate again...oooh...I must have made an error...I'll need MORE stitches.

Cast on and happily knit away...get it about 5inches along, step back and admire my calcumacating abilities. OOOH. Wait a minute...this looks a bit too big. Out comes the measuring tape. Um...10 inches too big.

Sigh. Now comes the pleading and begging bit.... I measured wrong, right? If I measure again and again and maybe even again, I'll get the measurements I was going for in the first place, right? Right? RIGHT?

Ummm....WRONG...and that would be NO. Away goes the knitting.

Next night...OK...I can fix this...reduce stitches down to a resonable size? ...only have about 7 more inches of knitting to do....I'll need to decrease about 50 or so stitches. Good grief, it'll look ridiculous by the time I'm done.

OK...think...think...think... OOOH. I know! Since I can't calcumacate worth shit, I'll measure out how much bag I really need and count up the stitches. Need a multiple of 3 for the stitch pattern... Oooh...lookee! 135 stitches. Perfect.

BIG, HEAVY, SIGH...RRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPP

Yesterday morning as my hair was cooking (I colored it.) - Happily cast on 135 stitches (first attempt was 102 stitches, second was 180 stitches, yeah, I know, you think I would have at least been suspicious), start knitting away....first pattern row....I'm 3 stitches short. Gah...it's not a multiple of 3...it's a multiple of 6! DORK ALERT! Knit the last few stitches plain.

Heave a HUGE sigh and go rinse out the color from my hair.

Rinse...rinse...rinse...I REFUSE TO RIP IT BACK AGAIN AND CAST ON AGAIN!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHH

Oooh...Look...no grey hairs!

Ok...feel better. Anywho....add 3 stitches in the plain knit row that is next...next pattern row...perfect! YAY!

Last night....Knit, knit, knitting away...get to about 5inches (for the 3rd time), step back and go...OOOOH...this looks just about right. Out comes the measuring tape...just a wee bit shy of 20 inches. 20 inches is perfect, but what I've got is perfectly close enough for me.

Later tonight, I will knit some more on Honey's socks and then continue to knit on my perfect bag. hee hee. Funny part is...remember when I said I did those calculations again and thought...hmmm...don't think that's big enough I'll add more?

Yeah...it's the same number I ended up with...

First one was too small...second one was too big...last one is juuuuuuuust riiiiiiiight... I feel like freakin' Goldilocks.

Lessons learned? Plenty...

Don't calcumacate past 10pm.

Don't try to calcumacate with grey hairs...they really mess up your brain.

Don't doubt yourself.

Use yarn that's a similar weight in the first place, then you won't have to go thru any calcumacations at all!

Better yet, have someone else do it for you!!!!

Trying very hard to watch the debate. It's all I can do to listen.

I've just learned how to make banners. I'll be making more for the blog and the Etsy shop. Cos I can...and it's fun!

That's a photo I took at the SF Golden Gate Park Conservatory. Now that I half ass know what I'm doing, I can use some other photos as well.

And maybe even have Spencer draw something for me.

And now it's time to play with my new sock software. Hmmm...maybe I should work some on my Mom's b-day socks some more tonight. I finished the foot and turned the heel last night. Woo Hoo!!!! All that's left is the leg bit and then these socks are off to Mom's house in plenty of time to keep her feet warm this winter.

Just when I thought it was over...

WHAMMMMMO!!!

Seems like last week's bout with disease was just a prelude to today. I've got exactly what Spencer brought home from school last week.

I caught something last week on Thursday and thought I'd gotten it all over and done with, but no. That was just a wee little warmup.

Spencer is back at school this week. YAY! And I was feeling wonderful and working away at work yesterday.

This morning? Not so much. I've been doing what I can in between naps and bouts of self-pity and moaning and groaning. I've gotten quite a bit done actually.

Amazing how much I can get done while I'm sick when I don't have to take care of a whining teen.

Time for some more tea, juice, and another self-pity fit.

Oh, and I finished the first sock of my Mom's b-day pair on Sunday and finished the toe of the second (they are toe-up)! Guess after I finish my pathetic dinner of toast and tea, I just might muster enough strength to knit a bit on the foot.

Or maybe I'll just reroot myself on the couch and think of how I'd redecorate the living area if I had gobs and oodles of cash laying about.

Viggo Hangover.....

OK...guess since everyone else has already posted about Saturday, guess I should get my bum in gear and post too!

But first...Friday was spent sleeping in (YAY!), chatting with my Honey and Family (double YAY!) and getting ready for Saturday.

...and...finalizing carpooling plans for Saturday's Knit/Movie fest over at AmpuT's house.

Saturday morning, Rachel swung by my place for a quick pick up and we headed up to Casa de Cute Doggie (AmpuT's place).

This be the cute dogdog Riley... guarding Rachel's Spinning Wheel. Which was totally cool by the way. Saw for the first time, up close and personal, someone spinning. Way COOOOL! (Don't worry wallet, you are safe...wool sensitive, remember?)

We had brunch, knitted, spun, played with cute dogdog and the whole time the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Viggo I, II, and III) was playing for our viewing pleasure.

Sigh...Viggo...

Extended versions of all 3 no less...more Viggo!!!! And can I just say OMG at the things that were taken out....I must say, I had a hard time concentrating on anything cos of all the 'new' stuff I hadn't seen. Definitely cut out some important character development stuff and some really important bits!!!

And you read right...ALL 3... Rachel left after the first I think - it's all just a big Viggo blurrrr - she had to get going to go with her hubby to another function (social butterfly that one!).

AmpuT totally twisted my arm and FORCED me to watch ALL 3 movies in ONE DAY!!! Actually it wasn't really all that hard to do...after the first one, I was hooked. Sigh...Viggo, I am SOOOOOOOO easy when it comes to you!!!

What projects were worked on? Rachel spun for a bit - fascinating, then joined us on the couch to knit on a sweater, AmpuT was working on a sweater - and tinking a lot, Viggo can be distracting that way you know - and then a scarf, and I finished up an important piece of my sister's gift, and then took apart my mom's sock and then started up on a blankie for Spencer.

I know, I know, I wasn't going to start another knitting project...but I just couldn't concentrate enough on the gift or the socks while the movie was playing to work on them any further. The blankie for Spencer is 200 or so stitches on big needles, garter stitch. Perfect mindless knitting for Viggo watching. And...it'll be good for a 'something different for a night' break once I finish up the gift and the socks and start on the quilts.

This one will rest in Mr. Stuffles until I need it for zoning out.

Since I didn't get home until 1:30am Sunday morning, I slept in late, and spent almost all day talking with Honey (yay Skype!!!), organizing my electronic pattern files, and trying to figure out why the hell I can't get this tiny little tatting shuttle thingy to work properly! Hee Hee

OK...now it's Monday, and I'm still feeling like I've been up all night (oh yeah, I slept lousy, so I pretty much was), but I still need to work a full day and be productive and all that.

And the guys are ready for me to do my thing...so off I go...

Summary: Great time was had by all! But I still can't Tat. Sigh.

Hey, I've been blogging for a year!

In reality, it'll actually be two years come August. Boy, I really have been slacking.

So here I am again...days and days after the last post, to tell you...

...I won't be posting much again.

I've tried, really I have, but after sitting all day at the computer, the last thing I want to do is sit all night at it. Sigh.

Just a few quick updates before I go off the radar again.

Knitting is kinda sorta happening. I'm not sure if I'll actually finish my sister's b-day gift before I see her on Sunday night. Oh and I'm working on one for Mom too - her b-day? Yesterday.

Yeah, I'm doing really good here with the whole deadline thing. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what else...

Ooooh...more ideas popping into my head for projects, lots of reading getting done, watched the entire Series 3 of the new Dr Who. David Tennant = Scottish Hottie! Dayum!!!

Honey arrives Saturday night. Mom and Sis arrive Sunday night. Much visiting and meeting and running about ensues, graduation happens Wednesday night. Sigh. A very very very very busy week coming up and I am so excited to see everyone I can't stand it. And they'll all freak when they see Spencer.

Mom and Sis head back home Thursday, Spencer, Honey, and I spend some quality time together, and then Spencer heads over to his Dad's so Honey and I can get some time together before he heads back on Father's Day.

Yeah, it's gonna be busy.

Some day, when the planets align just right, and I can get my crap together, I'll post about stuff, and put up some photos, have a contest for my 2yr anniversary (maybe) and spew philosophical goodness. Well, maybe not that, but there will be pictures of balls. And lots of 'em too! What more can you ask for? Oh, and cranes. Pictures of cranes too, after all, I promised AntiM. Like months ago! OH! and castles, cos I did promise castles to Antonella too (I did send her one from England, but I'm going to put more up here too, so don't judge me too harshly.)

Yes...I do still exist and haven't yet fallen off the edge of the world. Although it is round, so that actually couldn't happen.

OK...no, I haven't been abducted by aliens...Hey! It could happen!!!

I've been doing nothing and everything...if that makes any sense. Still more of the always busy, nothing is accomplished stuff. At least the sleep is getting better. Except for the few days/nights last week where the temps were over 100F there....gah...don't think I did anything much for 3 days.

And I'm making wild progress on my Sister's b-day gift...now over 4 months overdue. Sigh.

But...it looks AWESOME so far! I'm very excited about how it looks so far and this'll teach me once again..STICK TO THE DAMN PATTERN!!!!

I hope to have all the bits and pieces finished off so I can assemble it during the Kublacon this year. It's already coming up again...this weekend!!! GAH.

Oh and there's making Spencer's costume for Midsummer Night's Dream...He plays Bottom, so I get to make some donkey ears. hee hee OH CRAP...that's just a week from tomorrow!!!

SHIT.

OK...well...guess I'd better get started on those ears...guess what I'm doing for the next few nights?

Spencer has finished his art project. We're off together to school in the morning. He needs an adult with him to run interference on the commuter train...I'm good at that. Yes, I took pictures, yes, I'll eventually post them.

I really wasn't going to admit this, but I just have to...I've totally farked up my sister's birthday present. I realized last night that I'm not going to have enough yarn to finish it - and I'm more than 2/3 of the way thru. Sigh. I started off with 3 very large balls of the main color and 1 medium size ball of the contrast color. Oh NO!!! But wait...as I grab for the 3rd very large ball of main color, I see a problem. This last very large ball of main color, is NOT the same color as the other 2 very large balls of main color. GAH!

Soon after I began a "tearing thru the apartment and everything that could possible hold yarn search". It was fruitless...I came up empty handed. Sigh. Might as well go to bed.

Funny thing was, I wasn't upset - and I still am not upset. Go figure.

Today, for an early lunch, I popped over to the local JoAnn's and bought the yarn I needed. After some design discussion with the Honey (he was very helpful), I cast on again tonight while Spencer finished up the "art project" and we watched Season 3, Disc #1 of the new Doctor Who. I LOVE LOVE LOVE me some Doctor Who.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to knit on the once-farked, twice started, very late birthday present for my sister. And nothing else will get knit on until this doggone fark up is done.

I shall prevail.

Well, not really short...I am short, so the skirt is just about knee length...which is actually perfect for me. Notice the cute new sandals....have another pair in black.

I don't quite know what I'm going to post about it all...I've got a few ideas...just need to get my head round them all and decide how I'm going to approach it...Plus I owe you guys some more posts about the trip. GAH...at this rate I don't know if I'll ever catch up!

There has been knitting...I've cast on my first real size sock! Yay me!!! I've restarted the Holey Moley poncho...don't ask. Work still continues on my sister's B-day present...yes, I know, it was in January. Zip it. And I still have to show the sweater Honey's Mom knit for me, and some finished objects that have been finished for a while now.

I'm a slacker....I know. But I did my taxes WAAAY before the deadline...did you?

Oh...and there will be a SQUEEEEEEEE delay as I try to come down from the latest Honey news. He bought his tickets today to come visit in June! Woot! Honey will be in town for Spencer's graduation...as will my Mom and Sis. Honey's turn to meet my family! YAY!

Ooohh...or should I say OUCH!!! Kitty Sammie has just given me a present on her birthday. A 4 inch long double scratch on the top of my thigh...she likes to sit on my lap when I'm at the computer...and she was startled...and I'm wearing shorts...oh...gah...OUCH! Time to go wipe off the blood, clean the scratches and get some antibiotic gel on it. Sigh.

Good thing that skirt goes to the knee.......

No, we haven't moved from Threesomes to S&M...we're just talking Works In Progress...and other yarny stuff... jeez.

And now with the help of Marvin, the D4S (Dalek for Scale), I present...

3 balls Karabella Vintage Cotton colorway 311 (sent in the sweetest care package last Spring from No-Blog-Rachel)and some Patons cotton colorway unknown (but it's an awesome blue color - thrift store find). Have no idea what I'm going to do with it all yet, but I'm definitely going to combine the two colors. Somehow. On something. Will take a while for the cotton to 'talk' to me. OK, OK...I just have no clue what the hell I'm gonna do with it...




The Mystery Blue Thing for my Sis...backside once again...about half way along...the fabric is hard to maneuver at this point...getting harder to work on...I shall prevail... Am debating whether I should take this on the trip...it's getting quite bulky...probably not.



The beginnings of my fingerless mitts...Rowan Tapestry color 177...pattern Paris Roubaix set from Anne Hanson...Love. It. Absolutely love working with the yarn, and the pattern is fabulous. Hope to have the hat and mitts complete by the trip...and will be making this instead of the scarf - and I'll be using the same stitch pattern as the Paris-Roubaix set so it matches. Need something around my neck, but not a long scarf...too much bulk under the new 3 in 1 jacket. I'll probably knit that on the way over.



SWTC Bamboo in the Serendipity colorway (also from No-Blog-Rachel)...pattern Holey Moley...for me... Might take this along...it's an easy knit and very portable.




Caron's Cotton Terry...10 skeins...another thrift store find. Going to be a shitload of face washcloths for me and Spencer... I plan on taking some of this on the trip...washcloths are quick, easy, instant gratification...and a great way to practice new stitches.




Made out of some old acrylic dk weight from my stash and a ton o' green and clear glass beads...Celestine...the beads really make this star...I have 3 points left to make. This will be an awesome addition to our Xmas decoration collection...and I will be making more out of different yarn, beads, etc etc etc...love this pattern. Not taking this...too many needles sticking out of everywhere...could cause a security meltdown...wouldn't want that now would we?!?




So that's what I've got on the needles...there are so many more projects running around in my head...for many things, just not knitting. They'll probably stay there for awhile...
